Orange Alert is intended to raise awareness about the proposed Palomar LNG pipeline corridor through Mt. Hood National Forest. The forests behind the orange strip of fabric are slated to be permanently clearcut. In June 2008, staff and volunteers from the Portland-based forest watch group, Bark, hiked the 40-mile segment of the pipeline crossing through Mt. Hood National Forest over two weeks. The original entries are pieces of writing from a longer narrative of the walk. You can learn more about Bark's campaign to stop the Palomar proposal at www.bark-out.org.
